(CCTV Finance's 'China Financial Report' column) Today, the National Energy Administration released the renewable energy grid operation in 2018. In 2018, my country's renewable energy power generation achieved rapid growth, and photovoltaic power generation has ranked first in the world.

In 2018, the national renewable energy power generation reached 1.87 trillion kWh, and renewable energy power generation accounted for 26.7% of the total power generation, up 0.2 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, hydropower was 1.2 trillion kWh, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year; wind power was 366 billion kWh, an increase of 20% year-on-year; photovoltaic power generation was 177.5 billion kWh, an increase of 50% year-on-year; biomass power generation was 90.6 billion kWh, an increase of 14% year-on-year.

Li Chuangjun, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration: The national average hydropower utilization rate reached about 95%; the wind curtailment was 27.7 billion kWh, the national average wind curtailment rate was 7%, down 5 percentage points year-on-year; The volume was 5.49 billion kWh, and the national average light-off rate was 3%, a year-on-year decrease of 2.8 percentage points.

The National Energy Administration stated that in 2019, in addition to projects specifically supported by national policies, photovoltaic power generation projects that require state subsidies should in principle adopt market-based competition to determine construction projects and subsidy standards. Specific policies will be introduced as soon as possible.
